Essential Oil Homemade Goodness!!

Look at all the cool stuff I made recently!!

I made more cracked heel cream for hubby, and lip balms for everyone.I made some skin firming lotions, one for morning and one for evening use. I also made a roller ball with some dragon time and carrier oil to make it easier to apply.

We all love the lip balms and my daughters lips have stopped peeling so badly, so she is really happy about that.

Not sure if the firming lotions are actually firming anything yet. Will need to wait longer for those results, but my skin feels amazing with all the extra moisture and healthy oils it is getting.

I love the dragon time but putting it in the roller ball made it so much easier to apply which is a big plus for me.
I found this infographic on pinterest but it didn't link to the page so if this is yours let me know so I can give you credit.

Thieves Soft Scrub

I made some Thieves Soft Scrub at a friends Make & Take Party and I used it in my bathroom today. Wow!!! The results are amazing!!!

I did my bathtub, sink and counters. The pictures show the before and after for the sink and the corner of the counter. No pictures of the bathtub because I was in it showering when I cleaned it. LOL!!

The corner of the counter had some water stains on it that I haven't been able to get rid of for a while and the sink is gross because it is the only bathroom in the house so it is well used by all the people in the house and one of the cats. He loves to have us fill his boat so he can drink out of it. But then he spills it which is why we ended up with the water stains. He also tracks litter into the sink, which makes the sink even more disgusting.

I can't believe how clean and shiny they are with very minimal effort. I used barely any pressure when washing, and the added bonus is the smell. I love the smell of the Thieves products.  Anyways here are the pictures

Now for the recipe!!

Thieves Soft Scrub

1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup  Thieves Household Cleaner
1/2 tsp vinegar
10 drops Lemon oil

In a glass bowl mix Thieves, vinegar and lemon oil. Slowly add baking soda, stirring to combine until a thick paste forms. Once completely mixed through, transfer to a glass container.

If it is too watery add a bit more baking soda.

Use to scrub tubs, sinks, toilets, etc.

Rollerball Recipes

My order with my roller ball bottles came yesterday. YAY!!!

Of course I had to try one. I decided to give the allergy one a shot, and I really like it. It smells great!!!  And now that the city has started cleaning all the sand off the streets I will get a chance to see how well it works, or if I will need to make some adjustments.

I will be trying the others really soon.

R.C. Essential Oil

Last night I had a sore throat and was stuffed up, so I headed to my oils. Have  I said before how much I love my oils?!?!?!?!

What I did was to take 4 drops of R.C. and rubbed it onto the soles of my feet and chest.

I had the best sleep last night and I woke up feeling amazing. I will be using this oil a lot more.

RC is a unique blend of Cypress, Spruce, and three types of Eucalyptus (E. globulus, E. radiata, and E. citriodora) oils. It also includes the naturally occurring constituent limonene. Add to massage oil to create a spa-like, soothing atmosphere during massage. When applied topically to the chest or feet, it helps support a healthy respiratory system. Add 4 drops to feet prior to bedtime.

Why Choose Young Living?

Why choose only Young Living?

There are no standards for therapeutic-grade essential oils set by any government agency in North America. Hence, labeling fraud is rampant. To ensure you are getting therapeutic grade oils, you need to know your grower, your distiller, your packager, and your distributor, because anywhere along this chain of delivery, oils can be compromised.

For example, a common practice is to take a decent grade of essential oil and dilute it 90-95% with an odorless, colorless solvent. Such diluted oils often carry labels saying “Genuine” or “100% pure, which is allowed by the US FDA.

In Europe the ISO (International Standardization Organization) in Geneva, Switzerland, a world wide federation of national standard bodies drawn from 130 countries, has adopted the AFNOR (Association Francaise de Normalizaion) and AFNOR-EC (Association Francaise de Normalization - European Commission) standards for essential oils as the international standard.
There is only ONE North American company that routinely sends oil samples for independent AFNOR testing, yup... that is Young Living. There is only one company that truly owns its own farms and controls every single thing that happens on those farms. Better than organic, we offer you the worlds highest quality essentials.

In addition to meeting AFNOR standards, therapeutic grade oils must also be organically grown, unadulterated, properly distilled, and meet other criteria ..... which Young Living Essential Oils do.
Young Living also has over 51 therapeutic grade oils labelled as Natural Health Products with Health Canada. WOW! This is because they work as they are labeled to work.

These are just a few of the reasons we only use Young Living oils. More then just a brand, you are joining a family, a family on a mission to help improve everyone's mental and physical health.

Homemade Breath Spray

My husband always thinks his breath stinks, so he likes breath fresheners, gum or sprays. He decided he wanted one without the chemicals, and that is where essential oils come in.

I made him a bottle of all natural breath spray. He loves it!!!!

I decided to use some wintergreen essential oil and some peppermint essential oil, since he likes both of them. I used a 2oz spray bottle, because that is what I had on hand. If you want it to last longer use distilled water, I didn't have any on hand so I just boiled some tap water to remove impurities and then let it cool.Next time I am at the store I plan on grabbing some distilled water for any other recipes I try though.

Homemade Breath Spray

1 tbsp water
3 drops peppermint essential oil
3 drops wintergreen essential oil

Add everything to the spray bottle and shake before using.

My husband wanted it stronger so I ended up adding another drop of peppermint to it, but I found it too strong that way. If you do want to add more, just be sure to only add 1 extra drop and try it, after each addition because it will get strong really fast since the oils are so concentrated.
